The certified person himself usually expects more and more attractive job opportunities from this proof of competence.
The Project Management Institute is the world’s largest association in project management with its origins in the USA. Certificates for project managers and program managers are offered at different levels: Project Management Professionals (PMP)®, Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® or Program Management Professional (PgMP)®) The basic units are the PMBOK® Guide and the PM Competence Framework.
The IPMA has its origins in local associations in Europe (D, A, CH, F, UK). This is the second-largest association in project management and is widely used in Europe. In general, certificates for project managers are offered on 4 levels (Project Manager Level D-A). For certification, the basic documents “Competence-Based Project Management (PM3)” and “International Competence Baseline (ICB 3.0)” are used.
