PMBOK® GUIDE

  • Explore the Standard of Project Management

The Project Management Institute (PMI) has published several standardization documents, of which “A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide)” is the most important. The PMBOK® Guide is now recognized worldwide as the most important set of standards in project management and is the basis for Project Management Professionals (PMP)® certification and Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® certification.

The PMBOK® Guide describes all process steps of professional project management from the initiation, the planning, the execution, the controlling to the closing processes. Further it contains detailed information on methods and techniques for managing scale, time, expenses, risk, quality, staff, communication and purchasing in projects.

The PMBOK® Guide is available in bookstores or directly on the PMI® website if you are a PMI member. At present the PMBOK® Guide is available in 12 different languages.

PMP, CAPM, PMI and PMBOK are registered marks of the Project Management Institute, Inc.
