You want the PMP® – what do you need?

You need project management experience, some preparation – and a clear decision to tackle it now.

So that you know what to expect, here is the timetable – step by step.

Your path to becoming a PMP® – in 5 steps

Tip: If you book the all-round carefree package, we will take care of the entire process for you – from the PMI registration to the project description and preparation of evidence through to exam planning. This saves you time, avoids mistakes and allows you to concentrate fully on your preparation.

1) Check prerequisites

You need project management experience and recognized training. Which combination applies to you depends on your educational background:

We will be happy to clarify whether you meet the requirements in a brief discussion. Book a consultation appointment now

Info: If you do not yet meet the practical admission requirements for the PMP, we recommend the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® certification. This proves that you have the same knowledge as a PMP, even if you do not yet have the same practical experience.

If you have a degree (Bachelor or higher):

  • At least 3 years (36 months) project management experience
  • 35 hours of project management training e.g. PMP® training

If you don’t have a degree:

  • At least 5 years (60 months) project management experience
  • 35 hours of project management training, e.g. our PMP® training

2) Start application with PMI

Register on PMI.org, create a free user account and start your application:

  • Document project experience
  • Document training certificates
  • Clearly describe roles, duration, activities per project
  • Caching possible at any time

Important: Don’t describe the project – describe your role in it.

3) Receive admission & pay examination fee

If everything fits, you will receive approval for testing within a few days.

Then:

  • Pay examination fee (cheaper with PMI membership!)
  • Schedule an exam – online or at the test center
  • If you happen to be selected for an “audit exam”, you will need:
    • Certificates
    • Confirmations from the supervisor
    • Proof of your training

Don’t worry: we’ll help you every step of the way.

4) Start exam preparation

Now it’s time to get down to business: Learning. Practice. Understand.
And the best way to do this is with good preparation – just as professionals should.

Our recommendation:
Visit our PMP® preparation seminar – live, interactive and with real professionals from the field.

It has everything you need:

  • Intensive training in 2 modules (35 hours of project management training)
  • Experienced trainers who know how you pass
  • Practical exercises and real exam simulations
  • Documents, strategies, tips – all up to date with the current state of the exam

All information & dates can be found here: To the PMP® preparation seminar

Do you want it completely stress-free?
Then make sure you get our all-round carefree package – including seminar, learning materials, access to the test tool and exam costs.

5) Take the exam – and be certified
