CAPM® recertification & PDUs

Keep your CAPM® active – smart, structured and without exam stress.

The CAPM® (Certified Associate in Project Management) is your official entry into the world of certified project management.
To keep your title active, you collect 15 PDUs (Professional Development Units) every 3 years – practical, flexible and with training courses that fit in with your everyday life.

What you need specifically

The CAPM® is not a new exam, but proof that you are actively continuing your education.
Within 3 years you collect 15 PDUs – that’s an average of only 5 hours per year.

This is how it is made up:

  • At least 9 PDUs from continuing education – distributed across the PMI Talent Triangle®
  • At least 2 PDUs in each of the areas:
    • Ways of Working – Methods & Tools
    • Power Skills – Leadership & Communication
    • Business Acumen – Strategy & Profitability
  • You can acquire the remaining 6 PDUs freely in Education or in the “Giving Back” area

You simply report your PDUs via the PMI CCR system – and your certificate remains active.

The easiest way to collect PDUs (Education)

Attend a seminar at an official PMI® Authorized Training Partner (ATP) such as PS Consulting.

Find the topics in our seminar program that will help you advance professionally – from Ways of Working (e.g. Agile PM, Claim Management) to Power Skills (Leadership, Negotiation) to Business Acumen.

Our seminars are ATP-compliant, clearly identify PDUs per Talent Triangle area and are automatically deposited with PMI®.

You benefit from:

  • Official PMI® learning content
  • Clear PDU proof for your CCRS profile
  • Challenging, practical topics relating to project management
  • Modular seminars that allow you to catch up on individual PDUs
  • Experienced trainers with international practical experience

Optional: Giving back – if you like

In addition to further training, you can also collect PDUs by passing on your knowledge or getting actively involved in the PM community – for example through:

  • Mentoring or coaching other project members
  • Technical papers, articles or lectures
  • Participation in PMI chapters or study groups

These activities are part of the “Giving Back to the Profession ” area – they show your commitment to the further development of the project management community.

Reporting PDUs – how it works

As a participant in our seminars, your PDUs are automatically deposited with PMI®, as we are an official PMI Authorized Training Partner (ATP) and issue claim codes directly.

  1. Log in to PMI/CCRS
Log in to the official PMI Continuing Certification Requirements System (CCRS).
  2. 🏷️ Enter claim code
Use the claim code that you receive from us after the seminar.
This code has been stored directly between PMI® and PS Consulting (ATP) and ensures
that your PDUs are automatically assigned to the correct Talent Triangle area.
  3. Wait for confirmation
After submitting the code, your PDUs will be credited directly to your profile.

If you want to submit external activities, you can add them manually in the CCR system.
The PMI renewal fee is only due at the end of the 3-year cycle (currently 60 USD for members, 150 USD for non-members).

PMI Talent Triangle

The Project Management Institute (PMI) uses the PMI Talent Triangle® with three different areas of competence that every project manager needs and should continuously develop. These are also important for recertification as Certified Associates in Project Management (CAPM)®.

The 3 areas of competence for further training are:

  • Ways of Working (formerly Technical Project Management), i.e. project management methods
  • Power skills (formerly leadership), i.e. the leadership and communication skills of a project manager
  • Business Acumen (Strategic and Business Management), General Understanding of Management
