We take our responsibility seriously. Not just since today, not just “because it’s part of the job”, but proactively and for decades. Active environmental management and the constant consideration of the long-term effects of our current actions have been important to our company founder Patrick Schmid since his student days. This is why sustainability is firmly anchored in our corporate DNA at PS Consulting. Our aim is to use resources in such a way that our natural resources are preserved or even improved in the long term. For us, this includes climate protection as well as social commitment and long-term, partnership-based cooperation with our customers and suppliers. Because doing business sustainably is an inner attitude and not just an external activity.

Our site in Haiterbach has its own photovoltaic system, with which we generate significantly more energy than we need for our own consumption. We store the surplus energy that is not used directly in our electricity storage system, while the surplus is fed into the public electricity grid. In this way, we actively contribute to avoiding CO2 emissions that would otherwise be caused by conventional power generation.
We are also proud of the fact that our heat supply is CO2-neutral. We achieve this through the use of bio-energy. The heat is obtained from sustainable bio-resources, which means that no additional CO2 emissions are produced. This environmentally friendly method enables us to guarantee an efficient heat supply and at the same time make our contribution to climate protection.
In 2002, our company building was designed as a low-energy house and constructed from wood. This enables a natural indoor climate and ensures that the heat is kept inside. Since the beginning, we have used solar panels and a wood chip heating system to heat the building and provide hot water. These measures help to reduce our carbon footprint and make sensible use of waste wood from the surrounding forests. Our sustainable building concept ensures that we make use of both ecological and energy benefits. By using renewable energies such as solar panels and wood chip heating, we are reducing our dependence on fossil fuels and helping to protect the environment.
We hold our seminars in Germany, Europe and also in America and Asia. Seminars always offer participants the opportunity to network, exchange ideas and share experiences. Our trainers are often deployed worldwide as ambassadors for the company headquarters. This means that travel and flights cannot always be avoided. Wherever possible, we use the train to get to our destination. We have been offsetting the CO2 impact of our flights through corresponding funds since 2020.
Rainwater plays an important role in the natural water cycle. It replenishes bodies of water and thus helps to maintain the water balance. In our company, we use rainwater specifically for flushing toilets. This helps us to conserve precious drinking water and use resources sustainably. Another focus of our sustainability efforts is on minimizing land sealing. For this reason, we have decided to equip all our parking lots with grass pavers. These measures reflect our efforts to use our resources responsibly and make a positive contribution to the preservation of natural ecosystems.
We attach great importance to printing only what is actually needed. The paper we use has TCF (totally chlorine free), FSC (Forest Stewardship Council), EU Ecolabel and Nordic Ecolabel certification. These certifications demonstrate our commitment to environmentally friendly printing materials and sustainable procurement. Thanks to advances in digital technology, we have replaced many physical folders with virtual storage in recent years. This not only allows for more efficient organization, but also facilitates quick access to required documents. By increasing the use of digital storage solutions, we are reducing paper consumption and minimizing the environmental footprint of our office processes.
We are actively committed to promoting e-mobility among our employees in order to reduce fuel consumption and the impact on the environment. We offer various incentives to encourage the use of public transport. One example of this is a cab voucher that we provide to our participants to enable them to travel by train in an environmentally friendly way. In this way, we want to create an alternative and climate-friendly option to individual travel. We also provide an 11kW wallbox, which is open to all participants who come to us with an electric vehicle and would like to charge their vehicle during their stay. This measure is intended to promote the use of electric cars and provide a practical charging option.
The importance of regional food is very important to us these days. Buying regional food has several positive effects. Firstly, we reduce transportation costs and secondly, we support the regional economy by sourcing our food from local producers and retailers. This strengthens the local community and promotes sustainable agricultural practices.
At PS Consulting, assuming social responsibility is just as much a part of our corporate strategy as achieving economic goals or the environmentally conscious use of resources. We have been involved in several long-term partnerships for years. We support selected institutions that help children and young people worldwide in difficult life situations – especially in the face of global crises and disasters.
