OPM3-Analysis
The extensive analysis according to the standards of the Project Management Institute
The OPM3-Analysis (Organizational Project Management Maturity Model) is a standard which is issued by the biggest worlwide organisation in project management, PMI. OPM3 defines project management with the help of so-called „Best Practices“. There are about 600 practices which are proven and recognised processes. They make a decisive contribution to a lasting and repeatable project success.
These practices depend on each other in a three-dimensional model:
- Areas „Projects“, Programmes“ and „Portfolio“
- Maturity levels „Standardisation“, „Measuring“, „Controlling“ and „Continuous Improvement“
- Process groups „Initiation“, „Planning“, „Executing“, „Controlling“ and „Closing“
Your Benefit
OPM3 is an instrument which helps organisations to introduce and optimise project management processes. On the basis of the 600 practices you get an estimation of your current maturity level. Following that a register of the best practices and competences is drawn up to find a way to improvement.
It is a very elaborate and extensive tool for the detailed identification of the PM maturity level of your organisation. The model is especially suitable for you if you have already well established PM systems and are interested in fine-tuning them.
