PMP® Exam
Your evidence of long-year experiences of project management and well-founded know how
In order to use the title " Project Management Professional" PMP®, each candidate has to bring the evidence of three elements of professional competence and to agree to a code of behavior:
1. Long-year practical experience in project management (PMI® distinguishs two levels of experiences, dependend on the degree)
Category 1: You have a high school degree ( M.A. or Bachelor).
You can proof of at least 36 (no overlapping) month of project
experiences in the last 8 years.
You can proof of 4500 hours experiences of project management
concerning all PMBOK® Guide process groups (Initiating, Planning, Execution,
Monitoring, Controlling and Closing).
Category 2: You have not got a high school degree but the qualification for university entrance
or a passed apprenticeship.
You can proof of at least 60 (no overlapping) month of project experiences
in the past 8 years.
You can proof of 7500 hours experiences pf project management oncering all
PMBOK® Guide process groups (Initiating, Planning, Execution, Monitoring,
Controlling and und Closing).
2. Further Training in theory and praxis of project management
It is essential that the candidate is able to proof of at least 35 hours training of project management or theoretic training of all process groups and topics of the PMBOK® Guide at registration. this can be done by our PMP® Preparation Course. Moreover each other project management seminar counts which you have attended in the past.
3. Well-founded know-how of project management in theory and praxis
This will be confirmed by a very difficult test by PMI®. Here the candidates must answer 200 questins concerning all themes of the project management within 4 hours. The examination is organized centrally by PMI® and can be taken at one of the Prometric Testing Centers.
4. Ethic correct behavior
It is expected of a PMP® that he or she conducts one self ethic-correct at any time. For this purpose the PMI® has fixed an code of behavior.This concerns many different topics which are the behavior at conflicts of interests. The knowledge of these standards are checked by tests. An offence against the rules can result the loss of the PMP® status.
5. Fees of examination
The fee is 465,- Euro for non-members and 340,- Euro for members of PMI®. The annual PMI®-member fee is about 85,- Euro.
